Here to save the indie rock purists from the drudgery of mediocre Cold War Kids and Silversun Pickup songs, Superchunk are taking to the road for their first proper tour in, I don’t know, a long fucking time.
The legendary indie-punk kings and Merge Records founders will play a handful of festivals in May, June and July before taking to the east coast for a weeklong trek through DC, New York, Boston and Philadelphia. Amen to that.
The band is also in the process of prepping a new studio album called Majesty Shredding, which is tentatively slated for a fall release. While the band released the four song Leaves In The Gutter EP last year, the new disc will the first full length Superchunk offering since 2001’s Here’s To Shutting Up.
