  1. Beastie Boys set to bring the Sauce

Funky fresh news out of Beastie land y’all, and no I’m not talking about Adam Yaucht’s recent plea for everyone to join him in meditating.

Mike D told Rolling Stone recently that the trio’s long delayed and ridiculously titled forthcoming effort “Hot Sauce Committee Pt. 1” will hit shelves um, I mean, ITunes, in the fall. In the interview, Mike says while the album has long been ready, the Beasties will tinker around with it a little and freshen it up some in the coming months.

The album was originally set for release last fall, but Yaucht had to undergo treatment for throat cancer that delayed the album’s release, along with several high profile live dates including a headlining slot in last year’s Lollapalooza. Yaucht has fought past the cancer and is in remission, but the band says they’ll work the album’s release and any touring around his health. Good dudes those Beasties.

So only a few months until their first non-instrumental release since 2004’s “To The 5 Boroughs,” but in the meantime check out this little nugget that will appear on Hot Sauce.
